Fresh Talent for New Project
In August we met with Water Harvest International, a non-profit, Christian organization that drills water wells in Southern Sudan. As they told us their story we knew it was one we had to tell. We are always thinking of new ways to provide high quality work for nonprofits with budgets large and small.
When we were approached by WHI, we decided to take our internship program to the next level. Each semester we bring students from local universities and provide hands-on experience allowing them to work in each arena of production, from pre-production to the editing bay. The talent and ambition of the students that come through our door continually amaze us. Why not combine our desire to give back to the community and to inspire young filmmakers to provide more opportunities to produce stellar work? Matt Munson, senior RTVF major at TCU, was finishing up a summer internship when we began meeting with WHI. He was eager for the challenge of working on his first video.
After the success of this video, we can’t wait to see the doors that open through this new program within Red Productions. “This was an incredible project for us. Working with Matt and our friends at WHI was a breeze and we were able to come together to tell a really powerful story about what they are doing in Southern Sudan,” said Amanda Godwin, Marketing Coordinator.
