Red Productions Helps Model Home Project Bring Positive Message to America’s Youth

September 19, 2006

Imagine twenty-five male models from New York City, many of them the most visible and exposed models in the world, coming together to build a home for a family who has lost everything. Partnering with Habitat for Humanity, the Model Home Project is bringing hope to families devastated by this horrible tragedy, while also capturing the interest of the nation.

“Through the popular media, we hope to reach the thousands of people who follow the fashion industry. We have the unique ability to show the world how much work still remains to be done in these ravaged communities,” said Jon Passavant, model and spokesman for the project. “By aligning ourselves with Habitat for Humanity, the Model Home Project hopes to ultimately become the catalyst for a new movement of young people, empowering them to inspire change across the nation with a clear call to action.”

Red Productions is honored to be filming the Model Home Project this week in New Orleans. The footage will culminate in a docu-reality style video with the intent to motive youth volunteerism in America though the use of pop culture images. Producer, Red Sanders said, “Today was our first day of shooting and we followed the team of models turned home builders as they toured the Upper and Lower Ninth Ward areas and were awestruck by the remaining devastation, but when they turned the corner to see Musician’s Village where Habitat has begun rebuilding the community it seemed to serve as a shining light to set the week off in the right direction for everyone.”

Habitat for Humanity is the largest organization rebuilding the lives of people displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
